Bij Britta, in Groningen

October 16, 2017

Bij Britta Groningen - Wander Women blogazine

The best pie in Groningen? If you ask around, most people will probably say: “At Bij Britta of course!”. Barbara does all the pie baking. You get to choose from 6 to 8 different ones each day and she also bakes vegan pies! All of the pies are suitable for vegetarians (no use of gelatin). You don’t like pie? No worries: they also offer sandwiches (as a vegan option available) and grilled cheese sandwiches. Anne (Barbaras husband) knows how to prepare a spicy chai latte, made of real tea (instead of using powder). Besides chai tea, they offer lemonades, smoothies, coffee and tea (lots and lots of different flavours, which you can also buy to take home). Bij Britta is a cosy place in the center of Groningen, run by a welcoming couple. A little note: Anne takes his time to prepare your drinks to perfection, so if you are in a rush Bij Britta is not the place to go.

Why? Their carrot cake is a must try, the best we’ve ever tasted until now. And Barbara’s Mississippi Mud Pie is legendary and perfect for chocolate lovers. And that spicy chai latte, of course…

Price: €

Info: Bij Britta, Oude Kijk in ‘t Jatstraat 27, Groningen
Bij Britta doesn’t have social media or a website. Open: every day, except Sunday and Monday. Check their window for opening hours during holidays.
