There are lots of times we feel like we deserve something: delicious food, yummy coffee and pie, entertaining TV series on Netflix (or CMC on RTL4!), or a workout (or does the reward only come after a workout ;-)?). In may ways January is the month of less (also read our article about good intentions), but in Winter, after the holiday season comes to an end, we feel it’s the right time to spoil ourselves a little. After a long work day Anneloes loves to have a good workout or watch (binging sometimes) a good series on Netflix. Janet prefers watching 1 episode and reading a book or doing some soul searching. In this article you can read all about what made us happy the 1st month of 2018. And of course we love to hear what makes you happy?
- Sometimes I (A) love to watch (even binge watch) series. Just mindless watching, being entertained by for example Grace & Frankie (Netflix). This is a series about 2 ladies both left by their husbands and they become friends, eventhough they’re eachothers complete opposite.
- In December 2016 I took a trial lesson boxing, which I was so so so sure I was going to hate doing. But the opposite happened and now I take 2 boxing classes a week. A great way to be active and stay in good shape! The instructors always have some great motivational music playing during the classes. This is one I really like, so turn up the volume!
- At Albert Heijn (no spon!) I found a new brand of half dried jackfruit: Upton’s Naturals. This jackfruit is available in 3 flavours: natural, Thai Curry and BBQ. Janet will probably prepare us some pulled jackfruit sandwiches when I eat at her place soon, I can’t wait!
- Are you familiar with author and life coach Danielle LaPorte, the creator of the Desire Map? In the Desire Map it’s all about setting goals based on how you want to feel in life. How do you like to feel when you get up in the morning, going to work or on a day off? Tough? Feminine? Sincere? Light? Whole? Satisfied? Powerful? Based on her 1st book and the Desire Map (het second), Danielle created a free online course. It started January the 22nd of this year and takes 16 days. When taking the course, you can also join a private Facebook group to get in touch with other participants and talk about the answers. Also, there are 16 audio sessions and 16 work sheets to fill in. You’ll find this here. It’s no problem starting later. This course will at least be available until the 7th of February. I (Janet) have already discovered so much in the first 5 lessons. Will you join too?
