In Germany and Great Britain there’s lots of choice in vegan magazines. Both countries have about 4 or 5 to choose from. While over here in The Netherlands there’s only the magazine by the national society for veganism (NVV) and it’s for people who donate only. But it looks like that’s going to change! In this third blogpost about people who are attending the fair we introduce Saonah to you. She is the founder of Dutchvegan, the first Dutch vegan magazine. You can look into the magazine at the fair and meet this inspiring young woman.
Dutchvegan is a start up and Saonah is hoping for lots of support from the vegan community and everyone else who is supportive of this magazine and her dream: “The future is plantbased. I really believe that and Dutchvegan can contribute to this,” she tells us with lots of enthousiasm.
“A few years ago I was very active. I did lots of sports and I ate mostly chicken and cottage cheese. Even though I was a #fitgirl I felt horrible. I did some research and then I found out that eating plantbased had the most advantages to a fit and healthy lifestyle. I also read about the ethical aspect and the huge impact eating animal foods has on our planet. I went cold turkey vegan. This is three years ago now and I never looked back.
