Wander Women is created by Anneloes en Janet. You might know our former lifestyle and travel blog Not So Stuffy, where we wrote posts from 2012 to 2017. Wander Women is a friendly place where you can walk along with us on a path to a more sustainable lifestyle.
Is your current path the one with a bit of meat every other day? Fine!
You don’t have the budget to go all fair and organic? We recognize this soo much…
And did Ryanair make your world so much bigger by offering cheap ways to travel? Not very sustainable, but we know it’s a huge temptation.
“We are hard enough on ourselves as it is. That’s why we choose not to judge.”
‘To wander’ is an English verb for walking. Or roaming. Without a clear goal. Wanderlust is a hugh wisg for travel. It appeared in the English language after 1900. The origin can be found in German. It is probably a contraction of the words ‘Wandern’ and ‘Lust’. Wandern means walking and the translation of Lust is betekent wandelen en de vertaling van Lust is a desire.
We ‘wander’ through life. While wandering we notice we eat a more and more plantbased diet (we have both been vegetarians for a while). We are searching for ways how to make our Wander wardrobe as fair and organic as we can on a low budget and we take the first steps to make our Wanderlust, our wish to see the world, a bit more sustainable. We still fly and we know this has a big impact, we take the car every now and then when it’s more convenient and yes, we do shop at Zara sometimes. We are not saints, nor do we aim to be. It’s a mild step-by-step journey. We want to do better and take pleasure in this. Not judge ourselves continuously. It makes it easier to change if you celebrate every little step. We are hard enough on ourselves as it is. That’s why we choose not to judge you or ourselves. We walk the way of non-judgmental wandering, or discovery.

Together will go on a journey. A search. We updated our green city guide Groningen from Not So Stuffy as a start here. In the city we live in and the city you might live in or visit sometimes. Do you want to eat vegetarian or vegan or do some fair or secondhand shopping in Groningen? Check out our updated city guide here. We are your bright green go to blog.
We went one step further and also wrote a few green guides for some of our favourite cities in our neighbouring countries like Münster and Düsseldorf. Plus you can read all about the Northern part of the Netherlands here (online soon! For now do check our old site Not So Stuffy) and if you’re sick of all the talk about fair trade and sustainability there’s always recipes, book reviews, psychological insight, lots of inspiration and of course personal stories. Not only from us but from people we think you might find inspiring.
